AR Retail Experience – the UK’s first Augmented Reality ‘Magic Mirror’
Trying stuff on, without taking stuff off. Made possible by, what was the first of its type in the UK, our Augmented Reality “Magic Mirror”. Installed in the Trafford Centre, Manchester, and featuring real-time digital recreations of dresses by Karen Millen and John Lewis, this AR experience uses depth sensing and full body mapping to overlay and fit digital-dresses onto shoppers without the need to step into a fitting room.
With such a huge range of fashion at the Trafford Centre, with clothes of every colour, size and style, it makes sense to look at technologies that allow the shopper to quickly and easily get a handle on what's out there, what suits them and what doesn't. We want to put the excitement back into shopping and the process of trying on clothes. And add the social aspect of sharing your choices with your friends in an instant on Facebook. This is our secret weapon against internet shopping, you just can’t get this type of theatre and experience online.
